Carl Lomas has spent his life in final mile logistics.
He is chairman of the Institute of Couriers, a fellow in logistics for the University of Derby, secretary to the express Trailblazer employer group for the Department of Transport and chairs both the Transport for London and Transport for Greater Manchester groups for van and urban delivery. He also holds a governing role at FORS.
During his Microlise Transport Conference presentation Carl will discuss final mile, e-retail peak delivery numbers, mixed employment platforms, customer demand and the perception that delivery is free.
He will also look at the challenges associated with density, congestion and clean air targets for inner city deliveries. He’ll ask where the next generation workforce will come from to sustain the customer challenge for on demand e-retail delivery. What is the levy solution and will it fit with the Trailblazer standards?
